CFB: UCLA fires coach Dorrell after 6-6 season

Associated Press

LOS ANGELES — UCLA football coach Karl Dorrell was fired today, two days after losing to crosstown rival Southern California in a game that decided the Pac-10 berth for the Rose Bowl.

Dorrell went 35-27 in five years as coach, ending with a 6-6 record this season. His last day on the job was Monday, the school said.

A national search for a new coach has started, athletic director Dan Guerrero said.
