High surf, wind cancels TheBoat today, tomorrow

Advertiser Staff

TheBoat service has been canceled today and tomorrow because of the possibility of severe weather from high surf and wind, the city said.

The cancellations affect both the morning and afternoon sailings for the city's ferry service between Kalaeloa and Aloha Tower, a news release said.

For the morning sailings, ferry riders will be able to catch a shuttle provided by TheBus to Aloha Tower, but no shuttle service is available from Aloha Tower to Kalaeloa.

Ferry riders should call TheBus at 848-5555 for route and schedule information from Kalaeloa.

For the afternoon sailings, shuttle service will be offered from Aloha Tower to Kalaeloa, but not from Kalaeloa.

The National Weather Service said the thunderstorms are expected to arrive on Kauai this evening and move to Maui tomorrow.

This will significantly cause windy and heavy rainy weather. The weather is expected to improve this weekend with the trade winds returning Monday.
