TheBus gets $4.3M in federal funding for new vehicles
Advertiser StaffU.S. Sen. Daniel K. Inouye, a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced today that the City and County of Honolulu will receive a Federal Transit Administration grant of $4.3 million to purchase 32 vehicles.
The grant is expected to be used to the purchase of four new fixed route buses, 10 paratransit buses and 18 paratransit vans.
"This grant is an important infrastructure investment for Honolulu," Inouye said in a news release. "TheBus provides a vital service for O'ahu residents, particularly those on fixed incomes, dependent on TheBus for their transportation needs."
