Advertiser Staff

"Emmy Christmas Island Moments," an hour-long holiday special anchored at the Halekulani, will premiere at 9 p.m. Dec. 13 on KHON-2, with an encore presentation at 4 p.m. Dec. 23.

The show, filmed in the resigned Lewers Lounge, features a mix of holiday selections performed by a retinue of jazz, pop and Hawaiian entertainers. The guest slate includes regulars at the Lewers Lounge, including Bruce Hamada on bass and Jim Howard on piano, with Tennyson Stephens, another Lewers anchor, providing backup for R&B jazz stylist Azure McCall.

Additional segments will feature "American Idol" finalist Jasmine Trias, the Tony Ruivivar-led Society of Seven featuring songbird Lani Misalucha, former SOS singer Albert Maligmat and newcomer Afatia.

Songs from Christmas Past will be offered by Jimmy Borges, Melveen Leed, Pauline Wilson and the City of Refuge Choir.
