State placed under flash-flood watch through Thursday

Advertiser Staff

The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood watch for the state through Thursday afternoon.

A strong frontal system is approaching the state from the west bringing possible heavy rains over an already saturated ground and producing a higher than normal potential for flash flooding, the weather service said.

A flash-flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.

Residents are advised to monitor forecasts and to be prepared to act if a flash-flood warning is issued.
