NCL's Pride of America cancels scheduled call to Kona

Advertiser Staff

Because of adverse weather conditions, NCL's Pride of America canceled its scheduled call to Kona today and will spend the day at sea, according to a cruise line statement.

The ship experienced similar weather problems Monday at Kahului Harbor on Maui, when large swells within the port caused the vessel to snap several lines.

The ship captain made the decision to depart the port at 6:30 p.m. Monday instead of staying overnight as planned. The cruise line arranged for hotel accommodations and meals for the 400 or so passengers left on shore, the statement said.
