Man charged with fatal Honolulu Harbor stabbing

Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors today charged a 26-year-old man with second-degree murder in the stabbing of another man early yesterday aboard a fishing boat at Honolulu Harbor.

Taniera Takentarawa is accused of killing Bright Obed, 34, who died from a stab wound to the right neck. Police found Obed lying face down aboard the "Vui Vui," moored at Pier 36, slip 37.

Takentarawa is being held at the main police station cellblock in lieu of $150,000 bail. His initial appearance is tomorrow at District Court.

Takentarawa is a Vui Vui crewmember but not Obed, police said.
