Gov. Linda Lingle has proclaimed Friday as "Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day" in Hawai'i, and has ordered the state flag to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.

The action is in conjunction with President George W. Bush's proclamation to lower the U.S. flag, a news release said.

Various events will be held Friday to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack and honor those who lost their lives, including, the release said:

  • Annual Pearl Harbor Commemoration Ceremony, Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Pier Kilo, 7 a.m.

  • USS Oklahoma Memorial Dedication, Ford Island, noon.
