Warriors honored at Kapolei City Lights parade

Advertiser Staff

Two parades are scheduled to honor the Sugar Bowl-bound University of Hawai'i football team.

The first will be Saturday at the Kapolei City Lights electric light parade in Kapolei. The second will be after the team returns from the Sugar Bowl. Details for that have not been completed.

The parade in Kapolei will start at 6:30 p.m. at the Kapolei Fairgrounds, go down Kamokila Boulevard and turn on Uluohia Street to Kapolei Hale, where the players will turn the switch to light up the Kapolei Hale Christmas tree at 7:30 p.m. Several players will be the grand marshals.

The UH football team won its first outright Western Athletic Conference title and finished 12-0 for the first time in school history.

The team earned its first berth in the Bowl Championship Series.
