CFB: Florida's Tebow wins O'Brien QB Award

Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow was named winner of this year's Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award today in Forth Worth, Texas.

Tebow beat out Missouri's Chase Daniel and Oregon's Dennis Dixon.

Former Brigham Young University and Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon, the 1981 O'Brien recipient, announced Tebow as the winner today on The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show.

Tebow was this season's Southeast Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors three times this season and led the Gators to a 9-3 record and a berth in the Capital One Bowl against Michigan on New Year's Day.

Tebow secured completed 68.5 percent of his passes, threw for 3,132 yards and 29 touchdowns while also running for 22 scores.
