MD Association looking for summer camp volunteers

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is searching for volunteers to assist people with neuromuscular diseases and help them spend June 6-13, 2008, at YMCA Camp H.R. Erdman on O'ahu's North Shore.Each volunteer becomes a companion to a camper with a neuromuscular disease and helps them enjoy outdoor activities that are adapted for wheelchairs such as soccer, swimming and horseback riding.
The association said it needs volunteers who can roast the perfect marshmallow for campfire s'mores and who are brave enough to sing a duet during the "Camp Idol" karaoke contest. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. To obtain a volunteer application, call 593-4454.
