Water cutbacks urged along North Shore, in Waianae

Advertiser Staff

Water conservation is no longer necessary on Oahu on an island-wide basis, thanks to the public's help, the Board of Water Supply said.

But conservation efforts are still critical in two areas: along the North Shore, from Waialua to Turtle Bay, and from Makaha to Wai'anae.

BWS workers need to refill reservoirs and get the water system back up to normal levels.

Island reservoirs dropped to low levels and could not be refilled after electrical service was lost during strong winds and a heavy rain storm early Wednesday morning.
