CFB: Two Texas A&M football players arrested

Associated Press

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Two Texas A&M football players were arrested after an armed robbery investigation involving the home invasion of an apartment.

Yemi Babalola was charged with two aggravated robbery counts and one count of misdemeanor marijuana possession, according to a College Station police statement. Brandon Joiner was charged with three drug possession counts, one a felony.

Both men were in the Brazos County Jail in Bryan today.

According to the police statement, one resident suffered minor injuries in the home invasion Nov. 29 at the Callaway Villas Apartments. The investigation led to the search of the suspects' homes Wednesday, where drugs and other evidence were found, according to the statement.

Babalola started on the Texas A&M offensive line this season as a junior. Joiner is a freshman defensive end.

Texas A&M (7-5) plays Penn State (8-4) on Dec. 29 in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
