Capsules on the Heisman Trophy finalists
By Dave Curtis
The Orlando Sentinel
So., QB, Florida
Tebow was responsible for 51 touchdowns this season and became the first player in Division I-A history to run for 20 scores and throw for 20, too. The Gators' QB's 22 rushing touchdowns tied for most ever by a Division I-A quarterback.
Darren McFadden
Jr., RB, Arkansas
McFadden was named the SEC coaches' Offensive Player of the Year with 1,725 yards rushing and 20 touchdowns to lead Arkansas to a 2nd consecutive New Year's Day bowl. If he leaves school early, he might be the NFL's No. 1 pick.
Chase Daniel
Jr., QB, Missouri
Under-recruited out of a Texas high-school powerhouse, Daniel led the Tigers to their first Big 12 North Division championship by passing for 4,170 yards and 33 TDs. His 40-of-49 no-interception performance against Kansas might be the individual performance of the year.
Colt Brennan
Sr., QB, Hawai'i
Brennan, the Division I-A career leader in touchdown passes, helped Hawaii survive the regular season as I-A's lone undefeated team. Brennan's 4,174 passing yards and 38 TD passes helped the Warriors qualify for their first BCS bowl.
