Rain, saturated grounds close Oahu parks

Advertiser Staff

Fields at Kapi'olani Park, Ala Wai Community Park and Central O'ahu Regional Park are closed today because of saturated grounds.

The CORP baseball and softball fields will probably be closed all weekend, city officials said.

The Waipi'o Soccer Complex is currently open, but may close depending on weather conditions.

The city's swimming pool and weight room at Kailua District Park are currently closed because of lack of electricity, city officials said.

Several parks facilities that had been closed are now reopened, including Manoa District Park's new gym, Booth and Salt Lake swimming pools and Wahiawa Gym, although the gym's parking lot is still closed because of a large fallen tree that is blocking the entrance.

Wai'anae District Park, Nanakuli Beach Park, Ma'ili Central Park, Pilila'au Central Park and Makaha Central Park are also reopened.

All five of the city's botanical gardens are open.
