Man held on $10,000 bail for second-degree assault

Big Island police have arrested and charged a Kealakekua man in connection with an incident outside a gas station in the Captain Cook area on Nov. 30.

A 50-year-old Captain Cook man reported that he was beaten about the head and face by someone he knew, resulting in orbital fracture. He was treated at Kona Community Hospital and released the following day.

Dorian Small, 31, was arrested Monday and charged Wednesday with second-degree assault. His bail was set at $10,000. He was held at the Kona police cellblock until his appearance in court.
