Man hit in Moiliili is Oahu's 20th pedestrian fatality

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle last night on Isenberg Street in Mo'ili'ili died early today at Straub Clinic & Hospital.

The death was O'ahu's 20th pedestrian fatality of the year, matching the 2006 total, and 63rd traffic fatality of the year.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office is not releasing the man's name until next of kin is notified. An autopsy listed cause of death as multiple internal injuries and manner as accidental.

The accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. and the man was taken to Straub in stable condition, according to Honolulu Emergency Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

The man died today at 2:30 a.m. at Straub.
