HECO working on utility poles in Kunia Road area

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Electric Company crews will continue working on Kunia Road today, a HECO news release stated.

The project, which started Sunday, involves the replacement of three utility poles and associated equipment that was damaged during the recent severe weather. One of the two west-bound lanes of Kunia Road near the Hawaii Country Club may be blocked off for much of the day.

Crews will also be working on the recently replaced poles in the Nanakuli and Ma'ili areas.

HECO has also been using a helicopter to help install a utility pole on Kamehame Ridge in the Hawai'i Kai area. The helicopter was being used yesterday to deliver crews and equipment to locations that are inaccessible and could be needed again today, the HECO news release said.
