Moped rider critically hurt in Maili; lanes shut

Advertiser Staff

Police closed two lanes of Farrington Highway in Ma'ili at about 8 tonight for a traffic investigation into the collision of a moped and car that critically injured a man.

Two westbound lanes of Farrington Highway at Kaukamana Street across from Ma'ili Beach Park are closed and traffic is being contra-flowed on one eastbound lane.

The injured man, 31, was operating the moped. He was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, according to Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's emergency services department.
