CFB: 2008 Heisman? Here's an early look

By Dave Curtis
The Orlando Sentinel

Here's an early look at the 2008 Heisman favorites:

Sam Bradford, Soph.,

QB, Oklahoma

Buzz: No more sophomore stigma, and a dynamic offense that returns almost everyone, makes Bradford the favorite.

Odds: 2-to-1

Tim Tebow, Jr.,

QB, Florida

Buzz: A second award will be tough with opponents gunning for him and USC transfer RB Emmanuel Moody stealing touchdowns.

Odds: 3-to-1

Michael Crabtree, Soph.,

WR, Texas Tech

Buzz: The Biletnikoff winner as a freshman with 125 catches, 1,861 yards and 21 touchdowns won't see those numbers shrink much.

Odds: 15-to-1

Percy Harvin, Jr.,

WR, Florida

Buzz: Games like Vanderbilt—when he became the first Gator with 100 yards rushing and receiving—will boost his profile.

Odds: 15-to-1

x-Kevin Smith, Sr.,

RB, UCF

Buzz: A strong junior season gets him noticed, a strong senior season gets him to New York with a chance

Odds: 30-to-1

x-Smith is eligible to enter April's NFL draft.
