Surf on the rise along northern shores as swell arrives

Advertiser Staff

The new northwest swell arriving today is expected to peak tonight just below advisory levels, then lower slowly into Thursday, the National Weather Service said. A second, smaller northwest swell is expected to arrive sometime on Thursday, peak Thursday night and early Friday, then lower slowly over the weekend. A small south swell is expected to linger into Friday.

Today, surf will be rising along the North Shore to 8 feet to 12 feet; surf along west-facing shores will be 4 feet to 7 feet; and surf along south- and east-facing shores will be 2 feet to 4 feet.
