Makakilo resident Kioni Dudley remains the acting chairman of the Makakilo/Kapolei/Honokai Hale Neighborhood Board after members failed to elect a new chairman last week.

Member Brian Kanno received votes from four of the eight members to become chairman, while Dudley also received four votes at last Wednesday night's meeting.

A new chairman is necessary following Shad Kane's resignation from the board after its October meeting.

The board also failed to add a new member to replace Kane. Brent Buckley received four votes, as did Lolita Taketa.
