Cyanotech lays off 13 to cope with lower sales

Cyanotech Corp., the Kona-based producer of spirulina microalgae products, announced it was laying off 20 percent of its workforce because of reduced sales.The company said 13 of its production and administrative personnel were let go on Friday.
Shares of the company's stock sank 10 percent, or 14 cents, to close trading at $1.22.
