Main fixed; need for water conservation ends

Advertiser Staff

A 24-inch water main that broke yesterday morning on Farrington Highway near Ko Olina has been repaired, and emergency water conservation measures are no longer necessary, the Board of Water Supply announced this afternoon.

Crews were off the road by 3 p.m. and contractors have since been repaving the road.

Work is expected to be completed in a few hours tonight, well before morning rush-hour traffic, a board news release said.

As of 2:15 p.m., a contra-flowed lane returned to its normal Wai'anae-bound direction.

There are two Wai'anae-bound lanes and one town-bound lane open for motorists.

Water-system levels are back to normal.
