Advertiser Staff

Portland State lineman Brennan Carvalho of Kapa'a, Kaua'i, was named to the The Associated Press Football Championship Subdivision All-America first team today.

Carvalho, a 6 foot-1, 310-pound senior who prepped at Kamehameha, was an All-American at left guard last year, but made the move to center this season.

He finished his career as a three-time first team All-Big Sky Conference selection. Carvalho started 39 consecutive games in his career and was recently selected to the Walter Camp All-American team. He will compete in the Hula Bowl on Jan. 12.

Portland State was coached by Jerry Glanville, former University of Hawai'i defensive coordinator.
