Louisiana legislators have Sugar Bowl tickets to sell

Associated Press

BATON ROUGE, La. — While Hawai'i fans struggle for scarce Sugar Bowl tickets, some Louisiana lawmakers just want to get rid of theirs.

State legislators can buy up to six tickets for an even hotter game in the Louisiana Super Dome, the BCS national championship a week later.

Each lawmaker is allowed to purchase four of those tickets from the Allstate Sugar Bowl committee.

But to get championship tickets, legislators have to buy an equal number of seats at the Sugar Bowl between Georgia and Hawai'i.

Republican state Sen. Clo Fontenot says it cost him $1,500 to buy his four BCS tickets, and he and some other lawmakers want to sell their Sugar Bowl slots to anyone interested.
