$3.2 million to go toward Kalaeloa training center

Advertiser Staff

About $3.2 million has been released by Gov. Linda Lingle for reroofing the hangar used by Honolulu Community College's Pacific Aerospace Training Center at Kalaeloa Airport.

The roof is leaking and needs to be replaced.

The center offers instruction for aeronautics maintenance technicians and commercial pilots. It is the only university-associated aviation program in the state.

Design is scheduled to be done in 2008. Construction is targeted to begin in September 2008 and done in August 2009.
