Weather conditions atop Mauna Kea: ice, snow, fog

As of 2:45 a.m. today, temperatures among the various telescopes atop Mauna Kea on the Big Island ranged between 21 and 28 degrees at the 13,000-plus-foot level.

The overnight forecast call for fog and ice throughout the night with a possibility of light snow flurries.

Back down closer to sea level, Hilo International Airport was reporting a balmy 67 degrees as of 2 a.m.
