Library looking for volunteer narrators

Advertiser Staff

The Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped is seeking adult volunteers to assist with its recording program.

Narrators are needed to read and record local books in their entirety.

An audition is required. Readers are sought with the ability to read local dialect, Hawaiian, Asian and other languages as necessary.

The library also is accepting applications for the Radio Reading Service program, an "on air" live program conducted during the library's public service hours.

All recordings are taped in the library and during library hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays.

The Library for the Blind & Physically Handicapped is at 402 Kapahulu Ave. For more information or to request an application, call the library at 733-8444.
