Four ILH schools team up as Pac West

Advertiser Staff

Four Interscholastic League of Honolulu schools in West and Central O'ahu will compete together in several intermediate sports.

Pac West, composed of Island Pacific Academy (Kapolei), Hanalani Schools (Mililani), Lanakila Baptist ('Ewa Beach) and Ho'ala (Wahiawa), will participate in ILH girls soccer, softball and baseball.

Pac West will also field a junior varsity baseball team.

The formation was made to provide easier access for students in the area schools, who in the past have had to travel into Honolulu to practice for Pac-Five. Pac-Five is also composed of students from smaller private schools.

"We are so pleased to form Pac West for our student athletes," Dan White, Island Pacific headmaster, said in a press release. "Now our athletes can practice closer to home, develop a sense of pride, and start to excel in their athletic abilities with other talented individuals."

Students at Pac West schools will continue to participate for Pac-Five in other sports.
