Hawaii weather: Let it blow, let it blow, let it blow

We can expect higher than normal trade winds through the weekend and into next week as a strong high pressure area remains to the north of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Trade wind showers will spread farther leeward until the winds decrease, forecasters said. Showers may be briefly heavy at times.

Here's a closer look at the next few days:

Today: Scattered showers, mainly before 11 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a east wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tonight: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. Breezy, with a east wind around 23 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a east wind around 24 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. Breezy, with a east wind around 21 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Breezy, with a east wind around 24 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Monday Night: Isolated showers after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. East wind around 18 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
