NBA: Hawks' Shelden Williams carjacked before game

Associated Press

ATLANTA — Atlanta forward Shelden Williams was carjacked at gunpoint today before the Hawks' game against Charlotte, a Fulton County Police spokesman confirmed.

The Hawks said two suspects have been arrested in Douglas County.

Hawks spokesman Arthur Triche says Williams provided police with his license plate number, leading to a search that led to two suspects being arrested in Williams' car at a mall in Douglas County. More details of the arrests were not immediately available.

Williams reported to Philips Arena late Saturday for the game against the Bobcats and said that he had his keys and car stolen from him outside a barber shop.

Fulton County Police spokesman Gary Syblis says he was awaiting a report on the incident.

He said Williams, a second-year player from Duke, didn't identify himself as a player for the Hawks.

Syblis says the incident occured outside a barber shop on Cascade Road.
