The Hawaii Children's Discovery Center is turning 9 years old, and it's celebrating from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today with cake and ice cream while they last.

You can also meet Lani Moo from 10 a.m. to noon and take a ride on the carousel for $1.

Today's special birthday admission fee is $6 per person (the usual admission is $8 general, $6.75 kids 2-17). The center is at 111 'Ohe St. in Kaka'ako. 524-5437.
