The glow of candlelight in the Mission Houses Museum's historic houses will give visitors a special look at Christmas from the 1800s. Visit with Santa, make a special ornament to take home, taste traditional New England gingerbread and cider, view the new exhibition "Playthings: Toys & Games," see the antique printing press in action, and listen to costumed docents reading from original missionary letters.

Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at the museum. Admission: $10 adults, $6 museum members and children; free for children of museum members. 531-0481, ext. 0.
