Baseball: A's pitcher Gaudin to have hip surgery

OAKLAND, Calif. — Oakland right-hander Chad Gaudin will have surgery Tuesday to repair a torn labrum in his left hip.The procedure will be done in Gaudin's hometown of New Orleans. He also will have a bone removed from his right foot on the same day.
The Athletics said Gaudin's estimated recovery time is eight to 12 weeks.
The 24-year-old went 11-13 and 4.42 ERA in 34 starts this season.
