Dog-theft suspects released by police

Two men arrested yesterday on suspicion of stealing a pet 8-month-old Australian shepherd dog from the Moanalua Golf Club course were released today pending further investigation.The men, ages 58 and 43, were seen taking the dog yesterday away in the older man's car between 7 and 11:30 a.m., police said.
They allegedly told a witness they took the dog for food, according to police.
Police investigated the case as a second-degree theft. As of early this afternoon, the dog had not been recovered.
