'Traditions of the Pacific' 2008 events set

The Bishop Museum Association Council is offering lectures,workshops, and film programs for "Traditions of the Pacific: The Year of the Hula."
The educational series is an ongoing program that highlights the cultural heritage and natural science of Hawai'i, Asia, and the Pacific through stories, fieldtrips, lectures, and workshops.
Some events:
-- "Traditions of the Pacific Lecture: Hula Plants," Jan. 31,
6 p.m. 8 p.m. Atherton Halau with Isabella A. Abbott.
-- "Traditions of the Pacific Hula Workshop: Kahiko to Auana," Feb. 16, Paki II ($30; $20 members;) Session One: 9 a.m. 12 p.m. with kumu hula Kula Abiva; Session Two: 1 p.m. 4 p.m.
