The men have been accused of five armed robberies near Atlanta and are being held at the Douglas County jail, police said Monday. They are to be charged in Fulton County on Williams' carjacking but first must answer to the charges in Douglas County.

The suspects were identified as Bernard Moss and Darius Mathis, each 18 with an Atlanta address. They appeared in court Monday.

Williams was approached by two men outside a barber shop Saturday afternoon. One man pulled a gun and demanded the player's car keys, Fulton County Police spokesman Gary Syblis said. Williams was not injured, and he gave officers the license plate number. Police said his car was substantially damaged.

Dougasville Police chief Joe Whisenant said Moss and Mathis were arrested Saturday after their alleged involvement in two armed robberies with shoppers leaving Arbor Place Mall in Douglas County, following the carjacking in Atlanta. The two were spotted when officers identified Williams' stolen car.

Police said the suspects sideswiped about five vehicles, slide into a tree and fled on foot. Dogs assisted police in the arrest. One suspect was treated at a hospital for dog bites.

The carjacking is the latest attack on a professional athlete. Washington Redskins star Sean Taylor was shot and killed at his home in what is believed to have been a botched burglary.
