Hawaii stock index follows Dow, S&P 500 lower

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index fell for a fifth consecutive day as the Dow Jones Industrial Average and Standard & Poor's indexes fell.The 11-member stock index declined 1.70 points to 90.98 as eight issues fell and three rose.
Among stocks charting losses, Barnwell Industries was off 94 cents, or 9.5 percent, to $9.11.
Maui Land & Pineapple fell $1.04, or 3.8 percent, to $26.56, while Hoku Scientific slid 6 percent, or 68 cents, to $10.62.
