Kalihi man suspected of beating woman with pipe

Advertiser Staff

Charges are pending against a Kalihi man suspected of beating his girlfriend today with a 10-inch pipe during a domestic argument.

The man, 40, was arrested at 9:55 a.m. at his Linapuni Street residence for investigation of second-degree assault. He was still at the main police station cellblock at 9:30 p.m. but uncharged.

The 25-year-old woman complainant told police her boyfriend struck her the back of the head and forearm with the pipe and that she blocked another strike to the head with her hand.

The woman fled the residence at 9 a.m. and called police.

The unmarried couple, who reside together with their three children, were arguing over the woman's housekeeping skills, police said.
