Hawaii workers picketing Times Super Markets

Advertiser Staff

Unionized employees who work in the meat, fish and deli departments at Times Super Markets' 12 stores on O'ahu walked off their jobs at 9 a.m. this morning after rejecting the company's final offer last night.

The 116 workers are members of Hawaii Teamsters Local 996. The union and management have been in negotiations since September, but talks stalled over medical coverage for the employees.

A Times official said all 12 O'ahu stores are open for business.
