High-surf advisory for Hawaii's east shores

A high-surf advisory for east-facing shores of Kaua'i, O'ahu, Moloka'i, Maui and the Big Island has been posted until 6 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Weather Service said.Surf along eastern shores will be 7 feet to 10 feet as strong trade winds across the central Pacific produce large, rough surf.
Surf along northern shores will drop to 3 feet by this afternoon, the weather service said, and surf along west and south shores will be no bigger than 1 foot to 3 feet.
A small northwest swell is expected Thursday.
