Pan-Pacific soccer tournament tickets go on sale today

Tickets went on sale today for the Pan-Pacific Championship, an international soccer tournament featuring international stars England's David Beckham, Hawai'i's Brian Ching and Japan's Satoshi Yamaguchi.

The four-club tournament is scheduled for Feb. 20 and 23 at Aloha Stadium.

Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or at all Ticketmaster retail locations. Tickets can also be purchased at the Aloha Stadium Box Office, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The four clubs participating in the tournament include the reigning MLS Cup champion Houston Dynamo (with Hale'iwa native Ching), the current J.League Yamazaki Nabisco Cup Champion Gamba Osaka (featuring J.League star Yamaguchi) the 2007 SuperLiga finalists Los Angeles Galaxy, whose roster includes Beckham and perennial MLS all-star Landon Donovan) and a representative team from the Australian Hyundai A-League to be announced at a later date.

The week-long event also will include festivities organized by Major League Soccer for the Hawai'i youth soccer community.

Each ticket for the Pan-Pacific Championship will allow fans to attend both matches of the respective doubleheader at 6 and 8:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $10-$50 for the semifinal doubleheader on Feb. 20 and $15-$60 for the third-place match and final on Feb. 23. Special rates for children 12 and under are available.
