Sailboat aground at Keehi, HFD rescue effort ongoing

Firefighters tonight rescued two people and were in the process of bringing in another person at 11 p.m. from a sailboat that ran aground outside of Ke'ehi Lagoon.The sailboat is stuck in the surfbreak, said HFD spokesman Capt. Frank Johnson.
HFD responded at about 10:15 p.m. Rescue 2, the department helicopter, the fire boat and a ladder company are at scene.
Johnson said HFD has personnel in the water and the helicopter brought in two people from the sailboat at about 10:35 p.m.
