Firefighters rescued two people and were in the process of bringing in another person at 11 p.m. Tuesday night from a sailboat that ran aground outside of Ke'ehi Lagoon.

The sailboat was stuck in the surf break, said Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Frank Johnson.

HFD responded at about 10:15 p.m. Rescue 2, the department helicopter, the fire boat and a ladder company were sent to the scene.

Johnson said the helicopter brought in two people from the sailboat at about 10:35 p.m.
