Veterans clinic switching to card-reminder system

Advertiser Staff

HONOLULU — The Veterans Affairs, Pacific Islands Health Care System is implementing a new appointment reminder system that involves mailing out appointment cards instead of letters.

The cards are reported to be easier to read, contain improved provider and clinic information and are sealed for privacy.

In the past, veterans received a letter with multiple appointments. Now, they will receive a separate card for each clinic appointment they have scheduled.

Veterans will receive both cards and letters until the new system is fully operational.

Veterans who need to cancel an appointment should call the Medical Center immediately, at 433-0600, so that a time slot can be made available to a fellow veteran.
