HMSA innovation initiative wins national honor

The Hawaii Medical Service Association's $50 million Initiative for Innovation and Quality received and Editor's Choice Award at the World Healthcare Innovation and Technology Congress earlier this month.The program was announced last year and will award up to $30 million to hospitals and $20 million to doctors over a three year period. HMSA says the program is an effort to transform health care in Hawaii by providing funding for advancements in hospitals and support for electronic medical records systems for physicians.
