Baseball: OF Jenkins, Phillies agree to 2-year deal

The 33-year-old Jenkins hit .255 with 21 homers and 64 RBIs in 132 games last season for the Milwaukee Brewers.
"He can play right or left field and will give Charlie lineup options on an everyday basis," general manager Pat Gillick said, referring to manager Charlie Manuel.
Rowand, the team's center fielder for the last two seasons, agreed to a $60 million, five-year deal with the San Francisco Giants. Rowand batted .309 with 27 home runs and career bests of 89 RBIs, 105 runs, 189 hits and 45 doubles in 161 games for the Phillies last season and earned his first Gold Glove.
Jenkins was an All-Star in 2003 and has hit at least 20 homers in seven of nine full seasons in the majors.
Philadelphia also agreed to a one-year contract with right-hander Chad Durbin, a 30-year-old who went 8-7 with a 4.72 ERA in 36 games last season with Detroit. He started 19 games and went 2-0 with a 4.18 ERA in 17 relief appearances.
In eight major league seasons, Durbin is 25-37 with a 5.75 ERA in 114 games. He has one career save.
