Fundraiser for Logos Korean Church set for Dec. 29

Several Hawai'i church choirs come together for a fund-raising

performance Dec. 29 at the Community Church of Honolulu, 2345 Nuuanu Ave. to help raise money to buy a permanent home for the Logos Korean Church.

Currently the church holds services in a commercial space on Ala Moana

Boulevard wedged between Happiness Lounge and Mike's Discount Furniture. The congregation has been struggling for 13 years to raise enough money to find a church of its own.The congregation needs another $70,000 by Jan. 19 to complete a down payment to purchase the Church of the Nazarene in Kaimuki.

A barbecue dinner begins at 4 p.m. Cost is $20.

There will be performances by organ soloist Young Pak; the Hawai'i

Ecumenical Chorale under the direction of Aaron David Mahi; the Harris

United Methodist Church Chancel Choir under director Diane Matsuura; and the Ringing Angels Teen Handbell Choir from the Logos Korean Church.
