Maui Land & Pine leads local stock index higher

The Bloomberg-Honolulu Advertiser Hawai'i Index rose for the third consecutive day, led by Maui Land & Pineapple.

The 11-member stock index climbed 0.66 points to 93.24, as eight issues rose and three fell.

Maui Land increased 4.7 percent, or $1.28 a share, to $28.59. Alexander & Baldwin was up 1 percent, or 53 cents, to $52.90.

Among stocks with losses, Barnwell Industries fell 10 percent, or $1.05, to $9.35.
